    In this booklet we briefly showcase how EESC members’ expertise makes a difference in each of the main policy EU areas it covers: economic, social, environmental and international. Committee members have reached out to young people in both schools and universities, listening to their views and harnessing their enthusiasm. The EESC has brought together people from all sectors of society to promote solidarity and thrash out solutions to the economic crisis, including innovative responses such as social entrepreneurship.

    “Your Europe, Your Say!” is an annual initiative that gives young people the opportunity to get a taste of how EESC decision-making works and engage in debates about some of the most challenging questions faced by Europe today.

    Since the first “Your Europe, Your Say!” event was held in 2010, over 600 young people from almost 200 schools in the EU’s 28 Member States have taken part.

    Effective action can be accomplished through collaboration with social partners and interested NGOs, says the EESC. The end result will be sustainable economic, social and environmental growth in developing countries, which will help to eradicate poverty and facilitate inclusive growth.
