In this booklet we briefly showcase how EESC members’ expertise makes a difference in each of the main policy EU areas it covers: economic, social, environmental and international. Committee members have reached out to young people in both schools and universities, listening to their views and harnessing their enthusiasm. The EESC has brought together people from all sectors of society to promote solidarity and thrash out solutions to the economic crisis, including innovative responses such as social entrepreneurship.

Activity book for kids ONLY!

This publication is part of a series of catalogues published in the context of the exhibitions organized by the EESC.

This study was carried out by Steluța Enache, Co-ordinator of the "Labour Market and Job Quality Observation Office" of the National Trade Union Bloc (BNS) at the request of the workers' group of the EESC.

The EESC and the European Commission agree that successful implementation of the EU Energy Union – together with achieving concrete results at the crucial Climate Agreement talks in Paris at the end of 2015 – will depend very much on putting in place a reliable and transparent governance system.

This will help to ensure that the EU meets its targets.

The European Economic and Social Committee welcomes on the 23th of April, the Spring of Optimism.

“Your Europe, Your Say!” is an annual initiative that gives young people the opportunity to get a taste of how EESC decision-making works and engage in debates about some of the most challenging questions faced by Europe today.

Since the first “Your Europe, Your Say!” event was held in 2010, over 600 young people from almost 200 schools in the EU’s 28 Member States have taken part.

"European media and informed citizenship" took centre stage at the 8^th EESC civil society media seminar, organised under the Italian presidency in Milan from 27 to 28 November 2014.

Civil society plays a key role not only in fund raising and implementing development activities, but also in political processes.

Effective action can be accomplished through collaboration with social partners and interested NGOs, says the EESC. The end result will be sustainable economic, social and environmental growth in developing countries, which will help to eradicate poverty and facilitate inclusive growth.

This brochure is based on the 2013 Annual Activity Report issued in June 2014.
