  • For the 17th time, the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) and Montenegro held the Civil Society Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) in Brussels on 7 December 2023. The JCC is a civil society platform established between the EESC and Montenegrin civil society. It complements with a civil society point of view the EU institutional framework related to the Stabilisation and Association Agreement between the EU and Montenegro. This joint institution allows civil society organisations on both sides to monitor the country's accession negotiations. It is also a platform to discuss issues of common interest and to inform the public at large on the challenges ahead during the accession period.

  • For the 16th time, the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) and Montenegro held the Civil Society Joint Consultative Committee (JCC).     This 16th JCC took place in Podgorica and tackled issues such as:

    • Current state of play in EU-Montenegro relations, including 2022 Montenegro Report
    • Revised enlargement methodology – Cluster 1: The Fundamentals of the Accession Process, with a special focus on Judiciary and Fundamental rights and the Functioning of democratic institutions
    • Revised enlargement methodology – Cluster 1: The Fundamentals of the Accession Process, with a special focus on Justice, Freedom and Security
    • Overview of the civil society situation in Montenegro

    A joint declaration was adopted at the meeting and will be distributed to all relevant EU institutions, as well as to the Montenegrin authorities.

  • For the 14th time, the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) and Montenegro held the Civil Society Joint Consultative Committee (JCC). ge on the challenges ahead during the accession period.

    This 14th JCC tackled issues such as:

    • Current state of play in EU-Montenegro relations, including 2020 Montenegro Report and the response to the Covid-19 pandemics
    • Overview of the civil society situation in Montenegro

    A joint declaration was adopted at the meeting and distributed to all relevant EU institutions, as well as to the Montenegrin authorities.

  • For the 13th time, the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) and Montenegro held the Civil Society Joint Consultative Committee (JCC).     • Chapter 27 of the accession negotiations – Environment and climate change
    • Overview of the media and civil society in Montenegro

    A joint declaration was adopted at the meeting. The joint declaration will be distributed to all relevant EU institutions, as well as to the Montenegrin authorities.

  • For the 12th time, the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) and Montenegro held the Civil Society Joint Consultative Committee (JCC).     • Chapter 3: Right of establishment and freedom to provide services
    • Chapter 24 : Justice, freedom and security, with a special focus on migration
    • Overview of the civil society in Montenegro

    A joint declaration was adopted at the meeting. The joint declaration is distributed to all relevant EU institutions, as well as to the Montenegrin authorities.

  • For the 11th time, the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) and Montenegro held the Civil Society Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) in Podgorica, Montenegro.

    This meeting tackled following issues:

    • Assessment of the state of play in Montenegro accession negotiations to the EU
    • Chapter 19 of the accession negotiations – Social policy and employment, with a special focus on the European Pillar of Social Rights
    • Chapter 2 of the accession negotiations – Free movement of workers
    • Overview of the Civil Society situation in Montenegro
  • This 10th JCC was held in Brussels and it tackled the following issues:

    • The current state of play in EU-Montenegro relations and the accession process
    • The digitalization as a tool for social and economic development
    • Public administration reform
    • Overview of the civil society in Montenegro
    • State of the media sector in Montenegro
    • The Joint Declaration from the meeting was adopted
  • 9th meeting of the EU-Montenegro Civil Society Joint Consultative Committee.

  • The role of business and employers' organisations in Europe, the process of EU accession for the Balkan countries and the place of social dialogue in those countries – these will be the topics discussed at the Balkan Employers Round Table.

    It will be a unique opportunity for employers' organisation representatives from the Balkan countries and EU Member States to engage in open discussion, exchange views and network to forge relations for the future.

    The event is being held jointly by the Association of Employers of Slovenia and the European Economic and Social Committee's Employers' Group.

  • For the 8th time, the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) and Montenegro held the Civil Society Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) in Budva, Montenegro.

    This meeting tackled following issues: Assessment of the state of play in Montenegro accession negotiations to the EU, Chapter 28 of the accession negotiations – with focus on Consumer protection and Debate on the situation of young people on the labour market.
