Strengthening structured participation of European and local organised civil society in the Global Gateway Strategy through effective social and competitive impact of the projects
The EESC Youth Test is being applied to this opinion. Junior Entreprises Global was chosen by a group of interested youth organisations to represent all of them during the opinion-making process.
Description of the opinion:
This own‑initiative opinion on the Global Gateway will focus on how to strengthen the structured participation of organised civil society in its governance and implementation. While the strategy aims to promote sustainable, values‑based partnerships, the opinion will examine existing shortcomings, in particular in terms of transparency, inclusiveness and the timely involvement of social partners and civil society organisations.
It seeks to formulate concrete recommendations for binding, institutionally anchored, transparent and inclusive participation, while reinforcing the role of the EESC as a representative link between EU institutions and organised civil society. The opinion will also address how to better assess the social and competitiveness impacts of Global Gateway projects and to bridge the gap between political ambitions and implementation on the ground.
