The Employers' Group prepares for the Croatian presidency

The priorities of the Croatian presidency and the contribution of employers to their implementation were the main topics of the Employers' Group president's bilateral meetings during his visit in Zagreb on 14 and 15 November 2019. Jacek Krawczyk met representatives of the Croatian government and parliament, and leaders of Croatian employers' associations.

During the meeting with Darko Horvat, Croatia's Minister for the Economy, Entrepreneurship and Crafts, Mr Krawczyk stated that the Employers' Group would actively contribute to raising awareness of the priorities of the Croatian presidency of the Council of the European Union. The expertise of the Group's members in areas such as the single market, digitalisation and SME policy could make a valuable contribution to internal debates on entrepreneurship-related issues.

In the meeting with Domagoj Milošević, the chair of the Croatian Parliament's Committee for European Affairs, the issue of relations between business and politics in the framework of the EU was raised. The parliaments in the Member States have an active role to play here.

The Employers' Group has planned three events within the framework of the Croatian presidency. The first will be devoted to SMEs and the single market, the second will focus on empowering women in leadership and entrepreneurship, and the third will be devoted to the sustainable development goals.
