The EESC issues between 160 and 190 opinions and information reports a year.
It also organises several annual initiatives and events with a focus on civil society and citizens’ participation such as the Civil Society Prize, the Civil Society Days, the Your Europe, Your Say youth plenary and the ECI Day.

The EESC brings together representatives from all areas of organised civil society, who give their independent advice on EU policies and legislation. The EESC's326 Members are organised into three groups: Employers, Workers and Various Interests.

In an own-initiative opinion, the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) proposes creating a Climate Adjustment Fund (CAF) to ensure a rapid response to new climate and energy crises. The CAF would complement existing EU policies and ensure more effective use of existing funding.
L’étude analyse les principaux risques liés au climat pour les ménages de l’UE en quantifiant la relation entre un ensemble d’indicateurs sélectionnés en lien avec les aléas climatiques, les revenus des ménages ventilés par source et les dépenses par secteur, en tenant compte à la fois du coût des impacts dus au changement climatique et des mesures d’adaptation. Cette analyse est complétée par l’évaluation des coûts de la politique d’atténuation pour les ménages selon une approche de modélisation mixte.
