The EESC issues between 160 and 190 opinions and information reports a year.
It also organises several annual initiatives and events with a focus on civil society and citizens’ participation such as the Civil Society Prize, the Civil Society Days, the Your Europe, Your Say youth plenary and the ECI Day.

The EESC brings together representatives from all areas of organised civil society, who give their independent advice on EU policies and legislation. The EESC's326 Members are organised into three groups: Employers, Workers and Various Interests.
The EESC has six sections, specialising in concrete topics of relevance to the citizens of the European Union, ranging from social to economic affairs, energy, environment, external relations or the internal market.
Le Comité économique et social européen invite la Commission européenne à réaliser des analyses d’impact plus ciblées sur ses propositions visant à fournir au budget de l’Union des sources supplémentaires de financement, destinées à éponger la dette de NextGenerationEU. D’une manière générale, le Comité approuve les rentrées budgétaires préconisées à titre de «ressources propres». Il relève toutefois qu’elles doivent être stables et équitables, et ne peuvent être un fardeau ni pour les ménages, ni pour les entreprises.
The EU-Turkey Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) brings together representatives of organised civil society from the EU and Turkey. It complements the other bodies set up within the framework of the Association Agreement between the EU and Turkey and enables civil society organisations from both sides to monitor the accession negotiations and initiate debates on issues of common interest. Its members come from various economic and social interest groups. This is the 35th meeting and it is taking place in Ankara, at the invitation of the Turkish Employers Confederation (TOBB).
Comme l’indique le nom de l’étude, l’accent est mis sur les activités d’exportation au niveau des États membres. L’étude décrit la manière dont la promotion des exportations est organisée au Danemark, en Allemagne et en Espagne aux niveaux stratégique et opérationnel. Cette publication présente une synthèse des débats sur le thème «Développer le commerce pour une Europe à 27 plus forte: le libre-échange à l'avenir – la perspective des partenaires sociaux» qui a eu lieu le 28 septembre 2017 à Sopot (Pologne). Cette conférence a été organisée par le Groupe des employeurs du Comité économique et social européen dans le cadre du Forum européen des idées nouvelles (EFNI).
