Sommet Euromed 2021

A DAG-to-DAG is a joint civil society body between the partner countries of a Free Trade Agreement (FTA), bringing together the separate DAGs of each party. This is the 2nd joint meeting of the EU and Singapore DAGs under the EU-Singapore FTA.

In this 2nd DAG-to-DAG meeting, besides discussing issues related to the implementation of the Trade and Sustainable Development Chapter of the FTA and following up on previous meetings and planning activities ahead, the members will welcome both Ms Iwona Piórko, Ambassador, Head of Delegation of the European Union to Singapore as well as Mr Thaddaeus Hoo, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of the Republic of Singapore to Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg & Mission to the European Union, for a timely overview of the EU-Singapore relations, with particular emphasis on trade.

À la suite des recommandations formulées dans l’avis d’initiative du CESE sur une participation structurée des jeunes concernant le climat et la durabilité, le CESE accueillera la deuxième table ronde à rassembler des jeunes militants de la cause climatique et des représentants d’organisations de jeunesse, réunis pour discuter avec des décideurs de haut niveau de l’Union européenne des politiques de l’UE en matière de climat et de durabilité.

The EU-Serbia Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) will hold its 12th meeting on 26 November 2021 in Belgarde, Serbia. It is a platform established within the institutional framework of the EU‑Serbia Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA), enabling representatives of both the EU and the Serbian civil society to monitor the country's accession negotiations, discuss issues of common interest and point out concerns to be tackled on the Serbian path towards the European Union.

Besides the current state of play in EU-Serbia relations and the accession process, main topics of the 12th JCC meeting will be Rule of law and functioning of democratic institutions and Importance of the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans for Serbia and Cluster 4 of the revised methodology.

A common declaration of the JCC was issued after the meeting.

The EU Domestic Advisory Group (DAG) set up under the EU-UK Trade and Cooperation agreement to advise on the implementation of the agreement, held its constitution meeting Thursday 25 November. It elected its Presidency team with Tanja Buzek (Trade Unions - EESC) as Chair and two Vice-Chairs, Luisa Santos (Employers – BusinessEurope) and Tina Blohm (NGOs - Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung). It is ready and keen to constructively enrich this new relationship, building on EU civil society networks and expertise. During the meeting, members engaged with representatives of DG Trade on how to best work together and on current implementation issues. Members also started mapping out the possible priorities for the mandate and activities going forward. The next steps will be a second EU DAG meeting in the beginning of February 2022.
