Jeroen Jutte is responsible in the Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion DG of the European Commission for the "Employment and social aspects of the European Semester". In particular, he coordinates and supervises European Semester analyses on employment, education, skills and social policy issues, as contained in Commission Country Reports, and the development of Country Specific Recommendations in those fields. Mr Jutte dealt in various earlier positions within the Commission with inter alia the European Parliament discharge of the Commission expenditure in the employment and social domain relations with the European Court of Auditors, European Social Fund Coordination, accession negotiations/pre-accession assistance and business statistics.

Jean-Luc Vanraes is a member of the Renew Europe political group. He is also a member of the ECON (Commission for Economic Policy) and NAT (Commission for Natural Resources) Commissions at the European Committee of the Regions.

Grégory’s research interests include international macroeconomics and finance, central banking and European governance. From 2006 to 2009 Grégory worked as a macroeconomist in the Economic Research Department of the French bank Crédit Agricole. Prior to joining Bruegel he also conducted research in several capacities, including as a visiting researcher in the Financial Research Department of the Central Bank of Chile in Santiago, and in the Economic Department of the French Embassy in Chicago. Grégory is also an Associate Professor at the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers in Paris where he is teaching macroeconomics in the Master of Finance. He previously taught undergraduate macroeconomics at Sciences Po in Paris.

Patrizia has been working as an advocate for global justice at the intersection of human rights, environment and development for more than 10 years working mainly in and with non-profit organisations in Europe and Asia. She leads the European Environmental Bureau’s work on sustainable development, is part of the Steering Group of SDG Watch Europe and, together with the Secretary General, represents the EEB in the Multistakeholder Platform on the Implementation of the SDGs. For the EEB, she follows intergovernmental processes at the UN level and supports projects on environmental democracy, EU enlargement and neighbourhood policies as well as environmental and economic justice. She was previously Executive Director of the NGO Shipbreaking Platform, a global coalition of environmental, human and labour rights organisations.

Sian Jones is currently Policy Coordinator at the European Anti-Poverty Network (EAPN). She is responsible for coordinating EAPN’s anti-poverty policy and advocacy work at EU and national level, involving 31 national networks and 13 European Organizations.. She has particular expertise in engaging with members to achieve progress on social rights and poverty reduction through EU processes including the European Semester and the Social Open Method of Coordination. Quality jobs, social protection and minimum income have been key EAPN priorities and she has worked with the Commission, the European Parliament, EESC and the Council on these areas including on in-work poverty and new ways of work. Prior to EAPN she was Senior Policy Officer for the Welsh European Centre in Brussels responsible for policy work on Employment, Education and Social Inclusion and worked as a research consultant for the Council of Europe on youth inclusion.

James Watson was appointed Director of Economics at BusinessEurope, the Confederation of European Business, in June 2011. In this role he is responsible for developing and communicating the organisation’s positions on macroeconomic policies, structural and financial market reforms, economic governance, taxation, the EU budget and EU regional policies.  Prior to joining BusinessEurope, James worked for 14 years as an economic adviser in the UK government’s Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (formerly DTI), providing economic advice and analysis on policies to raise the UK’s long-term growth rate.

Chiara Putaturo is Policy Advisor on Inequality and Tax at Oxfam EU Office since February 2019. She is working on advocacy at EU level for ending corporate tax avoidance and increasing countries’ domestic resource mobilisation for funding public services and reducing inequalities. Previously, she was Project Officer for 8 years at Transparency International Italia, where she was responsible for research and awareness raising campaigns on anticorruption and transparency in the public sector. She has an academic background in political science and development economics.

Kajus Hagelstam is the Head of Unit of the Economic Governance Support Unit at the European Parliament. From 2004 until 2008 he worked as Counsellor on Economic and Financial Affairs at the Permanent Representation of Finland to the EU. After this, he was an Administrator for a Parliamentary body in the field of macroeconomics until 2012. From 2012 onwards he has been the Head of the Economic Governance Support Unit, which aims to provide European Parliament organs, in particular to the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs, with information and technical support on economic governance in the EU.

Miguel Gil Tertre is the Head of the Unit in charge of the European Semester (economic policy recommendations to Member States), European Strategic Investments and Cohesion at the Secretariat General (services of the President) of the European Commission. Between July 2014 and July 2017, he worked in the Cabinet of Vice-President Katainen and was in charge of Jobs, Growth, Investment and Competitiveness designing and implementing the investment Plan for Europe (Juncker Plan) and the European Defence Fund. He has a 10-year previous experience in telecom and internet economic analysis and regulation.
