The EESC issues between 160 and 190 opinions and information reports a year.
It also organises several annual initiatives and events with a focus on civil society and citizens’ participation such as the Civil Society Prize, the Civil Society Days, the Your Europe, Your Say youth plenary and the ECI Day.

The EESC brings together representatives from all areas of organised civil society, who give their independent advice on EU policies and legislation. The EESC's326 Members are organised into three groups: Employers, Workers and Various Interests.
The EESC has six sections, specialising in concrete topics of relevance to the citizens of the European Union, ranging from social to economic affairs, energy, environment, external relations or the internal market.
The 4th annual All DAGs meeting will take place on Monday 18 April 2024 09:00-13:00 at the EESC premises in JDE62. This will be the first All DAGs meeting of this DAG mandate and we are excited to welcome the newer DAG Members, as well as more experienced ones. It will be a unique opportunity to gather all EU DAG Members and EU institutions as one TSD community, to openly exchange ideas, challenges, and aspirations. The meeting will feature, among others, CTEO Denis Redonnet and DDG Maria Martin-Prat, DG Trade.
The EU-Japan DAG hosted a workshop: "Promoting human rights and environmental due diligence together" on 9 April 2024 following a Joint Dialogue with Civil Society in Tokyo on 8 April. The workshop's objective was to foster dialogue between EU and Japan civil society representatives, focusing on best practices and a solution-oriented approach in an area of importance to the implementation of the TSD-chapter of the EU-Japan EPA. Human rights and environmental due diligence are topics of common interest, as the EU and Japan share values and want to secure resilient supply chains so as to do business in a sustainable way.
El Comité Económico y Social Europeo (CESE) celebrará su Noveno Encuentro de la Sociedad Civil Organizada Unión Europea – América Latina y el Caribe en la Ciudad de Panamá los días 3 y 4 de octubre de 2017. El encuentro se celebrará en el marco de la preparación de la Novena Cumbre de Jefes de Estado o de Gobierno de la Unión Europea, América Latina y el Caribe y permitirá desarrollar el diálogo entre las organizaciones de la sociedad civil de la UE y ALC, fomentar el refuerzo de estas organizaciones y poner de manifiesto el punto de vista de la sociedad civil organizada ante los jefes de Estado.
El evento reunirá alrededor de 120 participantes, entre ellos, consejeros del CESE, representantes de la sociedad civil organizada latinoamericana y caribeña, así como oradores invitados. Los temas de trabajo que se tratarán durante el encuentro incluyen el multilateralismo, el comercio abierto y justo, y el trabajo decente y la preservación del medioambiente como pilares del desarrollo sostenible.
