Culture – the Heart and Soul of Europe

Cultural activities at the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC)

To encourage greater understanding and appreciation of our cultural heritage and to help nurture new talent, the EESC organises a programme of exhibitions and events showcasing the wealth of our diversity. Working in partnership with groups from throughout the EU, the EESC gives aspiring artists, designers, film-makers, photographers and many others that all-important exposure at EU level.

This publication outlines the events that have taken place from 2010-2013 and details the support provided by the local, regional or national partner involved. It covers a wide variety subjects, some to celebrate the particular EU Presidency, such as the restoration of the home of the Crown Prince of Denmark, some to mark the European Year, such as a series of documentary films on the Year of Active aging, and some just to show off the tremendous talent that exists within our borders.
