EU Global Health Strategy – Better Health for all in a changing world

The Commission adopted in November 2022 a new EU Global Health Strategy to improve global health security and deliver better health for all, positioning global health as an essential pillar of EU external policy. The Strategy will help deliver the universal health-related targets in the United Nations' 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.

The EU Global health strategy is based on three priorities to tackle global challenges:

  • deliver better health and well-being of people across the life course;
  • strengthen health systems and advance universal health coverage;
  • prevent and combat health threats, including pandemics, applying a 'One Health' approach.

In the framework of the EESC REX/573 opinion, the EESC is organising a hearingto gather the views of international organisationssocial partners and global health experts on the EU Global Health Strategy and what is needed for its proper implementation.
