Entrepreneurship in all its forms is essential to ensure economic growth, innovation, jobs and social inclusion.

SMEs, in particular, play a fundamental role in the European economy. For this reason, the EESC has always highlighted their importance and the need to foster their development. In recent years, our Committee has become a key player at EU level in promoting social entrepreneurship and the social economy. The new economic models are also high on the EESC's agenda and a number of initiatives have been launched in this area.
