  • The importance of Social Dialogue, the role of employers' organisations, the economic situation in the Balkan countries, progress in the accession process and current political challenges:  these were main topics of the discussions at the Balkan Employers' Round Table that took place in Ljubljana, Slovenia, on 22 March 2017. The event brought together representatives of employers' organisations from former Yugoslavia (Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and the Former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia).

  • Representatives of German, French, Swedish and Polish employers' organisations expressed their strong concerns about the revision of the posting of workers directive during the conference entitled "Revision of posting directive – it is not only about posting and workers... Facts and myths". "The proposal is a form of hidden protectionism, undermines the four freedoms, and thereby hampers the single market," said Jacek P. Krawczyk, President of the Employers' Group, in his opening statement. The conference took place on 16 March 2017 in Brussels and was organised by the Polish Confederation "Lewiatan".

    Den 16 mars kl.13.30 kommer elever från Hjalmar Strömerskolan i Strömsund att få besök av Ariane Rodert, ledamot i Europeiska ekonomiska och sociala kommittén, för att förbereda dem inför evenemanget "Ditt Europa, din mening". Ditt Europa, din mening är ett europeiskt ungdomsforum som samlar 33 skolor från EU och kandidatländerna för att diskutera EU:s framtid. Evenemanget äger rum i EESK:s lokaler i Bryssel den 30–31 mars 2017.

Ionut Sibian, anëtar i Komitetit Ekonomik dhe Social Evropian (KESE), për t’u përgatitur për “Evropa Juaj, Fjala Juaj”(EJFJ). EJFJ është një asamble e të rinjve Evropianë, e cila mbledh së bashku 33 shkolla nga shtetet anëtare të BE-së dhe vendet kandidate, të debatojnë për të ardhmen e Evropës dhe do të zhvillohet në Komitetin Ekonomik dhe Social Evropian në Bruksel, në datat 30-31 Mars 2017.

  • On 13 March 2017, the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) held a high-level conference in Rome to mark the sixty-year anniversary of the founding treaties of Europe, signed in Rome itself on 25 March 1957. Rather than celebrating the occasion in pomp, the EESC preferred to focus on the important milestones achieved and, above all, explore three issues that are crucial if we are to overcome the current crisis and guarantee a better future for Europe: tackling growing social inequalities, getting back on track for economic growth and providing an effective response, consistent with its principles, to the challenge of migration.

    On 13 March students from the Srednja ekonomsko-ugostiteljska škola in Bar, will be visited by Roman Haken to prepare them for "Your Europe, Your Say" (YEYS). YEYS is a European Youth assembly bringing together 33 schools from EU and candidate countries to debate the future of Europe and will take place at the EESC in Brussels on 30-31 March 2017.
