The objective of the study group is to tackle Roma inclusion, mainly by monitoring the implementation of the National Roma Integration Strategies. Inequality of opportunities is high in Bulgaria, and the Roma access to education, to health care, and to households with basic amenities is still problematic. The Roma also constitute the majority of long-term unemployed in the country. Although there are policies in place for Roma integration in Bulgaria, the fields of education, health and employment still need improvement. However, the country visit showed the importance of Roma mediators.
