During the meeting, the members of the Domestic Advisory Group (DAG) of the EU - composed of representatives of employers' organisations, trade unions and various interest groups - will follow up on the joint meetings with the Japanese counterparts that took place in Tokyo in January this year. They will also discuss the work programme of the EU DAG and topics for future cooperation and dialogue.  Additionally, the members of the EU DAG will exchange views with representatives of the European Commission on matters related to the implementation of the trade and sustainable development chapter of the EU-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA).

Extraordinary Diversity Europe Group meeting

The aim of this event is to illustrate the pivotal role and daily challenges of civil society organisations in helping refugees and migrants. In doing so, the Diversity Europe Group wishes to re-focus political attention on the topic and to offer a forum for civil society and EU Institutions to debate these issues in the context of EU recovery and reconstruction, post Covid-19. Following the concept of a “hybrid meeting”, the conference will take place both online and at the premises of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) in Brussels.

The webinar is organised to provide input into the preparation of an EESC own-initiative opinion on "Towards an EU strategy on sustainable consumption". The opinion will contribute to the reflection on post-crisis recovery by providing concrete recommendations for a comprehensive strategy on sustainable consumption, as part of the European Green Deal.
