The workers' voice in the next European Parliament

The upcoming European Elections will be decisive for the future of Europe and the future of Europe's workers. Today's challenges - including climate change, the future of work, inequality and poverty, rising populism, external and internal security threats, misinformation, and the imminent departure of a member state - can only be effectively addressed by working together as trade unions and with those who support our vision for a fairer Europe, based on democracy and social justice. A Europe that works for workers and all its citizens.

The European Parliament has been one of the key European institutions for trade unions to make our voices heard. However, the predictions of the next election results give cause for concern. One thing is clear - the landscape of the next European Parliament will change and the two traditional parties may no longer have a majority. What does this mean for trade unions and how will we navigate this new landscape? What new alliances will have to be made? Where must we draw the lines between defending our values and securing parliamentary majorities?
