Scope and objectives
The public hearing on 13 February 2020 is aiming to engage a broad range of civil society stakeholders to discuss the emerging policies in this area, such as
- the Just Transition Fund as part of the European Green Deal,
- and to receive their input for the recommendations of the opinion.
Context
The Croatian Council Presidency asked the EESC for this exploratory opinion to investigate the best possibilities to secure public and private financing for a successful transition to a low-carbon economy, with particular focus on climate change adaptation. The opinion will explore the possible development of innovative financing instruments to support this transition.
