The EESC issues between 160 and 190 opinions and information reports a year.
It also organises several annual initiatives and events with a focus on civil society and citizens’ participation such as the Civil Society Prize, the Civil Society Days, the Your Europe, Your Say youth plenary and the ECI Day.
The EESC brings together representatives from all areas of organised civil society, who give their independent advice on EU policies and legislation. The EESC's326 Members are organised into three groups: Employers, Workers and Various Interests.
The EESC has six sections, specialising in concrete topics of relevance to the citizens of the European Union, ranging from social to economic affairs, energy, environment, external relations or the internal market.
The European economic and social committee (EESC) and the Committee of the Regions (CoR) plan to launch a low-value call for tenders to undertake an audit regarding the verification of compliance, in accordance with the legislation in force, of exposure to electromagnetic fields of the Committees staff and the public attending the sites.
Launch of the procedure to interested potential tenderers: about a week after the closure of the publication
Deadline for offers: one month after dispatch of the invitation to tender documents
Contract award: about one month after the submission of tenders
Realization of audits and delivery of the final report: about three months after the signing of the contract.
Participation in tendering procedures is open on equal terms to all natural and legal persons coming within the scope of the Treaties and to all natural and legal persons in a third country which has a special agreement with the Communities in the field of public procurement on the conditions laid down in that agreement.
