On 4 July, the President of the European Economic and Social Committee met with Kornelios Korneliou Permanent Representative of Cyprus to the EU. Georges Dassis had a constructive discussion with the Mr. Korneliou discussing particularly the outcome of the referendum that took place in the United Kingdom on 23 June.

On 29 June the President of the European Economic and Social Committee met with Dr. Hans-Gert Poettering, former President of the European Parliament (EP) and Chairman of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung political foundation and they discussed the project of the House of European History.

Experts from politics and civil society gathered at the public hearing organised by the European Economic and Social Committee to discuss the current situation of prosumers in the EU and the opportunities and challenges that they are currently facing.

"Consumers, households and businesses will play an important role in the Energy Market by becoming consumers and producers at the same time", said in his keynote speech Tomasz Husak, Head of Cabinet of the Commissioner for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs Elżbieta Bieńkowska.
