Georges Dassis met with Mr. Bakradze, Georgian Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration

On 16 March 2016, Mr Dassis had a meeting with Mr Bakradze, Georgian Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, who was accompanied by Mr Gogolashvili, the recently appointed Chairman of the Georgian National Platform within the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum. Mr Adamczyk, co-chair of the future EU-Georgia Civil Society Platform, also attended the meeting.

Mr Dassis and Mr Bakradze exchanged views on the membership of the Platform, which is to operate according to a mandate given to the EESC and Georgian civil society by the EU-Georgia Association Agreement.

This meeting facilitated a better understanding of both parties' proposals and constraints with regard to setting up the Platform. Agreement was quickly reached that both parties could agree on any modifications considered to be necessary after an initial period of operation.

Mr Dassis and Mr Bakradze welcomed the good rapport and the spirit of cooperation which characterised the meeting, during which Mr Dassis stressed the EESC's desire to maintain excellent relations with Georgia and to coordinate as closely as possible with Georgian civil society organisations.
