It is my pleasure to invite you to the 560th EESC Plenary Session. We are planning a couple of stimulating debates, which might be especially interesting to you.

On Tuesday 27 April at 5.30 p.m., we will hold a debate on a Resolution on the Conference on the Future of Europe, one of the flagship initiatives of the Ursula von der Leyen Commission, which is setting off this month.

On Wednesday 28 April at 10 a.m., we will hold a debate on the Strategy for Sustainable and Smart Mobility with Adina Vălean, European Commissioner for Transport.

On the same day at 11 a.m., our Members will have a discussion with Nicolas Schmit, European Commissioner for Jobs and Social Rights, on the European Pillar of Social Rights Action Plan, the upcoming EU Action Plan for Social Economy followed by the adoption of the Resolution on the EESC's contribution to the Porto Social Summit.

I will be glad to welcome you at our plenary session. To that end, I invite you to use webstreaming, which will allow you to follow all the votes and discussions remotely.

  • Luxembourg ESC: Mr Tom DOMINIQUE was elected new president of the Luxembourg ESC for the 2021-2023 term.
  • EESC (European Semester Group): Annual European Semester conference 2021 on "Building a resilient Europe - Civil society and the National Recovery and Resilience Plans", 31 May 2021. Further details will follow on due time.
