The sixth meeting of the EU-Africa Economic and Social Stakeholders' Network will take place in Brussels, Belgium, on 3 and 4 July 2019. A political declaration will be adopted by the network to be addressed to the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and the African Union.

Exchange of views on the « Grand Départ – a great start for cleaner mobility» dedicated to high-level testimonials and debates on the theme of clean, competitive and connected mobility on the eve of the festivities of the «Grand Départ» of the Tour de France in Brussels.
With a view to gathering as much input as possible during the preparatory process for the opinion on The role of EU's trade and investment policies in enhancing EU's economic performance from a wide range of experts, the outcomes of the debate should feed into the preparation of the EESC opinion, to be adopted by the end of 2019.
The debate includes a first session focusing on the general implications of the EU's trade and investment policies on the enhancement of its internal economic performance, and a second session encompassing sustainable trade, environment and consumer policies.

The EESC Study Group on Disability Rights is organising a public hearing on "Communicating disability Rights" on 28 June 2019, where we will try to give an answer to these questions.

The most vulnerable groups in society must not be left behind in the transition to a low-carbon and resource-efficient economic model. The public hearing will look at ways to implement the 17 SDGs by addressing social concerns in full synergy with environmental and economic ones, reducing social inequalities and more fairly distributing the burden of transformation towards a sustainable Europe.
The European Economic and Social Committee is organizing a hearing as part of its follow-up work on its opinion on ''A European retail sector fit for the 21st century'', which was adopted in December 2018. The event will take place on 27 June 2019. It is part of a series of follow-up hearings to be held in several EU Member States.
The main objective of the hearing will be to discuss the effectiveness and efficiency of EU retail policies and to collect valuable input and feedback from Polish stakeholders on the issue in order to find ways to improve these policies. Particular emphasis will be placed on the recommendations presented in the EESC opinion with a view to their implementation at national level.
The Workers' Group is organising an extraordinary meeting in Romania in the framework of the Romanian EU Presidency.
This year's meetings between the EU and Central America under the Trade and Sustainable Development Title of the Association Agreement will include a joint meeting of the DAGs where the representatives of the EU and Central American Advisory Groups will exchange experience in their current operation and discuss proposals for capacity strengthening of the civil society monitoring mechanism, the role of the parties in this context and future cooperation. The joint meeting of the DAGs will be followed by a workshop on Trade and Sustainable Development where the participants will discuss the content of the chapter and look for a common understanding of the chapter.
The objective of the hearing will be to give the floor to experts in the field, but also to answer questions on how can the EU Single Market and its citizens benefit from fully operational European Blockchain infrastructure.
