Participatory Approaches and the EUSDR - Czech National Day of Participation

Roman Haken, rapporteur on CLLD, EESC

On 30 May 2017 in Prague an event on "Participatory Approaches and the EUSDR - Czech National Day of Participation" will be organised in which  the ECO Section is a partner to the Czech Ministry for Regional Development and the Priority Area 10 (Stepping Up Institutional Capacity and Cooperation) of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR).

The European Economic and Social Committee will present their recommendations for strategic planning at macro-regional level – specifically, the example of the European strategy for the Danube region – to Czech and international experts. At the same time, in cooperation with the Ministry for Regional Development and the Czech Senate, they will examine how participatory planning is being implemented in the Czech Republic. Participants will have the opportunity to compare the situation on the ground in the Czech Republic with experiences from Austria and Germany (Baden-Württemberg). Pilot projects concerning international cooperation in the Danube area will also be presented. The conclusions will touch upon possible future steps both in terms of EU cohesion policy and the standardisation of modern public administration, with the involvement of citizens and target groups in decision making.

It is our pleasure to invite you to this international conference.
