On 29 June the President of the European Economic and Social Committee met with Dr. Hans-Gert Poettering, former President of the European Parliament (EP) and Chairman of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung political foundation and they discussed the project of the House of European History.
Experts from politics and civil society gathered at the public hearing organised by the European Economic and Social Committee to discuss the current situation of prosumers in the EU and the opportunities and challenges that they are currently facing.
"Consumers, households and businesses will play an important role in the Energy Market by becoming consumers and producers at the same time", said in his keynote speech Tomasz Husak, Head of Cabinet of the Commissioner for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs Elżbieta Bieńkowska.
The president of the European Economic and Social Committee, Georges Dassis, met today 28th of June, with a delegation of the Hellenic Confederation of Craftsmen and Merchants (GSEVEE) headed by their president Mr Kavvathas. The 2016 annual congress of the European Builders Confederation (EBC) was hosted at the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) on 24 June. This year's congress focused on how to make sure small and medium-sized enterprises can tap into the potential of Building Information Modelling (BIM). It also presented recent developments and various projects linked to this innovative process including, training needs.
