Dear Madam, Dear Sir,
I would like to wish you a lot of success in this New Year, which meets us straight away with a lot of challenges, some of which we will touch upon during the EESC's first 2020 Plenary Session.
The first half of 2020 is a time of the first Croatian Presidency of the EU, which is why on Wednesday, January 22, we will hold a debate on its priorities, with Gordan Grlić-Radman, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia.
As the date of Brexit is upon us, on the first day of Plenary Session we will also hold a farewell ceremony for UK members and delegates.
On Thursday, we will have a discussion with Olga Kikou, European Affairs Manager for Compassion in World Farming, who will present the European Citizens' Initiative "End the Cage Age".
Another key debate will take place on 23 January and will focus on the theme From COP25 to European Green Deal with:
- Virginijus Sinkevičius, Commissioner for Environment, Oceans and Fisheries
- Ovais Sarmad, Deputy Executive Secretary of the UNFCCC
- Enrico Giovannini, Spokesperson for the Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development (ASviS)
- Semia Cherif, Coordinating Lead Author for the MedECC, Tunisia
I will be glad to welcome you at our plenary session. To that end, I would like to invite you to register via the e-mail address below so I can reserve a good seat for you.
