Dear Madam, Dear Sir,
It is my pleasure to invite you to the 550th EESC Plenary Session.
On Wednesday 19 February, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the International Labour Organization, we will hold a debate on The Future of Work and the European Pillar of Social Rights with Guy Ryder, Director-General of the ILO.
On the same day, as we are living in times of increasing global emergencies, the EESC members will examine the issue of How the Committee can most effectively respond to international crises.
On Thursday, 20 February, Paolo Di Stefano, Head of Coldiretti EU Liaison Office, will give a presentation of the European Citizens' Initiative EatORIGINal, which calls on the European Commission to impose mandatory declaration of origin for all food products, to protect our health, prevent food frauds and guarantee consumers' right to information.
Later that day, we will welcome Maroš Šefčovič, Vice-President of the European Commission, who will present the European Commission work programme and the multiannual political priorities for 2019-2024. This will give us the opportunity to openly discuss the programme's convergence with the EESC's contribution, adopted on 30 October 2019.
I will be glad to welcome you at our plenary session. To that end, I would like to invite you to register via the e-mail address below so I can reserve a good seat for you.
The Plenary Session can be followed via webstreaming.
