The EESC during the Polish Presidency
Businesses in Eastern Partnership countries should strengthen and further develop links with businesses and private and public bodies in the EU, said Jacek Krawczyk, EESC vice-president at the European Forum for New Ideas, organized by the Polish Confederation of Private Employers, Lewiatan, in Sopot (Poland) and held under the auspices of the Polish EU presidency.
This conference offers a great chance to discuss the current issue of EU's sustainable growth with the representatives of the Polish Presidency and the Polish civil society. It will be opened by the Deputy Prime-Minister of Poland Waldemar Pawlak and EESC President Staffan Nilsson. Michal Boni, Minister-member of the Polish Council of Ministers will make one of the keynote speeches.
Discover Poland through the best of its film music. Internationally renowned Polish films will be presented from their musical perspective.
Poems translated into different languages will be displayed in the EESC buildings at different places and can be taken away by passers-by

The Polish Presidency of the EU was kicked off on 1st July, and the EESC has already launched numerous invitations, events and documents linked to this Presidency. The July Plenary Session of the Committee received the Polish Deputy Prime Minister Waldemar PAWLAK on 13th July, and the same day, the Polish Minister of Agriculture, Marek SAWICKI, took part, by the side of the Commissioner Cioloş, to the EESC conference on the future of European agriculture. ...

On 13 July, the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) will debate the priorities of the EU Council Polish presidency with Waldemar Pawlak, Polish deputy prime minister and Jerzy Buzek, president of the European Parliament. Scenarios for the development of a sustainable Europe, key element of the political programme of EESC president, Staffan Nilsson, will be discussed. The following day, Janusz Lewandowski, commissioner for financial programming and budget, will comment on the EESC's recent clear position on the EU budget review.
