To search, you may select one or more criteria from the menu.

The search criteria are as follows:

Character of the Act:
sorts out initiatives according to a selected type:
1. Legal act of legislative nature (e.g. EC Regulation, EC Directive, EC Decision)
2. Legal act of non-legislative nature (e.g. recommendation of a public authority, White paper, Green paper..)
3. Private act (e.g. charter, code of conduct drafted and adopted by private parties..)

Sector (Commission DG):
The initiatives are divided into groups in accordance to the sector they tackle. The division of the sectors reflects the division of the responsibilities of sectoral directorates (DGs - Directorate General) within the organisational structure of the European Commission. This assists the users to display initiatives in interested sector and more over helps the experts on the European level to monitor these initiatives.

Adoption year:
This criteria allows to display the initiatives in accordance to their year of adoption. It is possible to choose individual year or relevant time line. In case that a certain initiative has developed from a private act to legislative act, the adoption years in the description of each initiative indicate the evolution.

Keyword
This criteria allows to search for one or more keywords from the description texts of each initiative. The more keywords you enter the more specific and precise your search results will become.

Structure of the database
The attached form in Word format was sent to code owners. It contains all fields as opposed to the technical descriptions of the PRISM database which only shows filled out fields.
