Privacy policy statement

Decision 201/16 A of 16 September 2016 is the legal basis for the EESC's long- and short-term traineeship programme.

Your personal data are processed in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 45/2001 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data by the Community institutions and bodies and on the free movement of such data.

This data processing is designed to facilitate the internal selection procedure for EESC trainee recruitment. The data will be communicated exclusively to the person responsible for traineeships and to the traineeship advisers who, in the various departments, take part in the selection process.

Only the data on age, gender, nationality, studies and languages will be communicated to those members of staff.

The data on age and gender are used exclusively to guarantee equal opportunities.

Candidates undertaking a traineeship have to provide proof of their medical fitness to undertake a training period and a statement from the police to the effect that they have not been convicted of any serious offences. These documents are returned after the end of the traineeship period.

The personal data for traineeship candidates and pre-selected candidates for a long-term traineeship will be retained for two years from the official starting date of the traineeship.

For candidates undertaking a long-term traineeship, these data will be kept for five year after the end of the traineeship.

The personal data of candidates for a short-term traineeship will be retained for two years after receipt of the application.

For successful candidates for a short-term traineeship, these data will be kept for five years after the end of the traineeship.

You have the right to access your personal data, and the right to correct any inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
