The circular economy: job creation and the Green Action Plan for SMEs

Opinion on the Communication from the Commission "Green Action Plan for SMEs: Enabling SMEs to turn environmental challenges into business opportunities" AND ON THE Communication from the Commission "Green Employment Initiative: Tapping into the job creation potential of the green economy.

A. Pezzini:

"The circular economy concerns the issues of energy-saving, and of the digital agenda.

This subject warrants a great deal of attention because it can create many new… it has the potential to create many new jobs.

Because these are issues that are well known and considered very important in very advanced European countries.

So this culture needs to be disseminated in other European countries.

To do this, an EESC platform should be set up involving people who are very familiar with the subject in order to inject impetus into the evolution of industry, especially small businesses in Europe, towards a strong circular-economy culture."
