5 ideas for a younger Europe - Barcelona
On January 30, the Vice-President of the European Economic and Social Committee, Anna Maria Darmanin, and European Parliament Vice-President Gianni Pittella held a meeting with students from the Autonomous University of Barcelona . The main purpose of the meeting was to canvass students' ideas about how best to tackle youth unemployment in the EU. The students made a number of proposals on how to improve the mobility of European workers, for instance by making information about the single market more accessible to young employees.Naturally, an important part of the debate was given over to a discussion of how successful universities were in terms of preparing students for their working lives.
