The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is currently preparing an own-initiative opinion on Vocational Education and Training in Rural and Remote Areas.
The need to constantly up-skill and develop the competencies of existing employees and to train new employees using Vocational Education and Training is recognised as an important issue in the development of employees and the businesses that employ them. Unfortunately, in rural and remote areas, businesses face additional problems in promoting Continual Professional Development due to a lack of interaction with educational institutions.
The EESC will hold a public hearing on these issues on Wednesday, 28 January 2015 from 9.30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Brussels (EESC, Van Maerlant Building, Rue van Maerlant 2, Room VMA 3).
One of the objectives of the hearing is to gather relevant civil society proposals to address the challenges faced by rural and remote areas in the context of vocational education and training and to contribute to recommendations on how they can be tackled.
We encourage you to send us your contributions.
Simultaneous interpretation will be provided to and from English, French, Spanish and Polish.
