Open Day at the EESC

Saturday, 12 May 2012, 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Rue Belliard 99 – 1040 Brussels

At the 2012 Open Day, we shall be presenting the challenges of sustainable development, the flagship theme of the Rio+20 conference. This conference is being organised in Rio in June this year by the United Nations, 20 years after the conference on the environment and development.

Go on an explorer’s “sustainable development” expedition

Take up the challenges set by our “sustainable development” expedition! Overcome trials based on the themes of urban life, the importance of the green economy, management of renewable energy and the challenges of water management. Prepare yourself to be amazed and informed at every stage of your adventure! Win points, and leave with a souvenir of your day!

Play and win

Test your general knowledge of the European Union and environmental protection: take part in a quiz and win a prize.

Listen, dance, sing!

Gimme Fuego – a double bass, a guitar, percussion ensemble and a singer, but also a broad repertoire covering bossa, rock, soul and reggae.
This is the mix proposed by Gimme Fuego. What more can you ask to get things going on the Open Day?

Have fun as a family

Send special Open Day postcards to family and friends across Europe. Test your agility on the rope bridge on the 6th floor. Have your picture taken in a truly original setting!
Children can take part in the drawing competition and colour in pictures. They can also draw in an activity book and take it home. Ask our makeup artists to paint your face, for people of all ages!
