Social cohesion and minimum income

Extraordinary meeting of the Workers' Group Meeting - Brussels, Belgium

On 21 October 2013, the Workers' Group organised an extraordinary meeting on the themes of social cohesion and minimum income.

During the morning, there was a presentation of a study on "The role of trade union organisations in social cohesion policies" by its authors, Alain Mestre (Syndex expert) and Andrzej Jakubowski (consultant).

In the afternoon session, participants examined a study  on "A minimum income - an option for the EU" that was presented by its authors, European Social Observatory researchers Ramón Peña-Casas and Dalila Ghailani. Józef Niemiec, ETUC Deputy General Secretary, and Fintan Farrell (European Anti-Poverty Network) were among the guests.
